How you can help

Please feel free to use the following letter as a guide or write one of your own:

Murders and violence against Brazil’s Indians must be investigated urgently, and those guilty of crimes brought to trial. Brazil’s failure to recognise Indians’ collective land ownership rights, which is the underlying cause of much violence against them, must be rectified speedily in accordance with international law, as embodied in ILO convention 169. Collective land ownership rights offer them their only chance to secure their future. Uncontacted Indian groups are especially vulnerable and their lands must be recognised and protected urgently.
