One hundred Nivkh, Evenk, and Uilta people of Siberia
have blocked roads with their reindeer for three days in protest
against the planned construction of two huge oil and gas pipelines on
their land.

Leader Alexei Limanzo said the companies involved had
failed to meet the indigenous peoples' demands for an investigation
into the environmental effects of the pipelines, Sakhalin-1 and
Sakhalin-2.
